5/7/08.........MERCRS first race's of the season are set to go for next weekend 5/17 at Galena in Illinois & Headfirst Performance in Kentucky. Clubs, remember to download your scoresheet from the website and send to Guy or Greg.
5/7/08.........Duathlon Series this weekend at Multisport Mayhem in Illinois & Olentangy Duathlon in Ohio.
5/7/08.........MERCRS, to all clubs planning on racing this season.The mileage chart will be partially completed and ready for download after this weekend. I have many clubs finished completely and the remaining clubs will have mileage points for the month of May listed. That should give me time to finish the rest of the mileage points. Sorry about all this but, we have alot of new clubs sanctioned and it takes time to compile the mileage points.
5/3/08.......... The USAT Mideast Region rankings are now available. Please go to the Rankings link to download the Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathon, & Off Road Triathlon for both female & male in the region. The Mideast Region Board gave All Regional to the top 5% in each age group and Honorable Mention to the top 10% in each age group. Any age group that did not have enough athletes to make this selection was automatically given All Regional & Honorable Mention status. Thanks for everyones patience in waiting for us to post the rankings.
4/23/08.........Update from the Collegiate Championships in Tuscaloosa Alabama. The Region had many schools represented and the excitement at the race site was huge. The college teams know how to have fun and also race very hard. I have many pics soon to get loaded up on the website. If any of the schools that were at the race and have pics.......please send so we can load them for all to see. The Olympic Trials was very exciting to see, with Julie Ertel and Matt Reed securing the second slots for Bejing. They are now headed to Hy-Vee in June for the final spots to complete Team USA. Looks like a classic battle between Hunter Kemper and Andy Potts. A fantastic weekend in Tuscaloosa, with great weather, very nice race site, lots of fun and many exciting races to watch and volunteer for.

4/7/08..............UPDATE......We were informed of a date change that was needed to the Youth Series schedule with Indianapolis Kids Triathlon changed to June 29th. Also, the Spring 2008 newsletter is now loaded under Who We Are and remember the Youth Series schedule change described above when making plans to race

Sorry I did not put this announcement up earlier so I will post it now. WELCOME back, 3 Disciplines Racing to the Mideast Region. Not that you ever left per say, but 3 Disciplines Racing is now sanctioning with USAT which strengthens the entire region. Again, thanks and welcome back.

Freedon Run is coming to the Mideast Region. If you have not read the press release yet, go to the MISC Info selection of our front page and read about the Freedon Run. Original IRONMAN Tom Knoll will run across America doing 30 miles a day, then drive back to the start point and then bike the 30 miles back. He is raising $$$ for the Wounded Warrior Program, Sunshine Foundation and CAF prgrams. Tom will travel through Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
