Loco (2)

Indianapolis, Indiana

Tri-LOCO (Indianapolis, Indiana) is in its second full season and is gaining momentum fast. With a growing roster of over 60 members, Tri-LOCO is a group of triathletes of all ages and abilities. We’re proud of our 8 All-Americans and 7 Ironman All-World athletes, but what makes Tri-LOCO truly special is the camaraderie and love for the sport among our members. We’re a competitive group, but it’s the desire to have a good time that has drawn so many new members.

In our first season as a club, we were able to win the Division V club title at Ironman Louisville, and we were second at Ironman Muncie 70.3 in addition to winning the Jaguar Triathlon club competition in our hometown of Indianapolis. We’re looking forward to even more success in 2014 as our numbers grow and our members get faster. We’re fortunate to have the support of some great new sponsors, including our title sponsor, Bicycle Outfitters Indy. To find out more about Tri-Loco visit our Facebook page.

Oak park tri team

The Lansing YMCA Oak Park Triathlon Team (Oak Park Tri Team) is the vision of our founder, USAT Coach Kathi Shipley.  What started in 2010 as an “Introduction to Triathlon” class of 12 has exploded into a TEAM of nearly 100, with a wait list to join!  In keeping with YMCA values, the Oak Park Tri Team welcomes members of all ages and backgrounds.  Athletes as young as 12 train alongside athletes that are 60+. This incredible diversity extends to our abilities as well.  We compete at every level, from Sprint to full Ironman distances, and everything in-between. We have athletes that are brand new to the sport, and athletes who compete at the National level.

Our Oak Park Tri Team coaches are all active triathletes themselves who live and love the multi sport lifestyle.  Our coaches are highly trained, with most coaches holding multiple certifications. By the end of 2014, we will have three USAT level 1 certified coaches on staff.  The Oak Park Tri Team coaches motivate all of our athletes to “step out of their comfort zones” to discover what is possible.

The true secret to our success…is no secret.  The Oak Park Triathlon Team is more than a team…we are a community.  We are a community of supportive athletes, friends, family, and sponsors who all proudly wear our signature Oak Park Tri Team “BLUE.”  Our bright blue logo t-shirts and tri suits can be found at events throughout Michigan and across the United States (we have even been spotted in Australia, Greece, China, Poland and beyond). So, when you see an Oak Park Tri Team BLUE at your next event, please say hello – or visit us on facebook at Oak Park Triathlon Team or find us @

Team ATCK – Michigan

This is our first season as an official club/team although we have been training buddies and friends for several years. We are a competitive bunch, but if you see us at a race we are always out to have a good time.  We host a barbecue for family and friends at two races a year and while we’re a small club, our enthusiastic friends and family help to make our impact on races much larger by cheering us on and wearing our logo.

In our first season we were able to win 3Disciplines Club Championship in Michigan, finish 2nd overall in MERCRS points Division III, and have a great showing at Ironman Arizona finishing 3rd in Division V in their Triclub Program.  We also have a team member who raced at USAT nationals and qualified to represent Team USA in 2015 at Sprint and Duathlon Worlds.  We are looking forward to the adventures next season will bring, including a large team presence at Ironman Mont Tremblant and USAT Long Course Nationals!

Lansing Triathlon Team

Lansing Triathlon Team (LTT) is a group of team members dedicated to the sport of triathlon, representation of it’s sponsors, as well as service and enthusiasm for fitness within the surrounding Lansing, Michigan community. Founded by 2 running buddies with a passion for triathlon, we are the first non-collegiate, sponsor funded triathlon team in Lansing!

We began our inaugural season in 2011, made up of 5 racing members & 1 support member. This year we had 6 racing members & 1 support member. Every year we accept applications for the following season’s team. We already have 6 applications for new memberships in 2014 & we expect several more to come in before our December 31 deadline.

This year we hosted our first event, the biggest youth triathlon in our area! 148 kids, ages 4-13, signed up to race. This was the first triathlon for 107 of them & six of them were FOUR year olds! In 2014 we will make this youth triathlon a double event with the first race being held in early June at the beginning of the triathlon season & the second race being held in early September towards the end of the triathlon season. For more information about our team, including tons of pictures, go to or find us on Facebook!
