"For such a small race, you definitely get “big race” service and support… well laid-out logistics/website, fun course, great transition area, lots of knowledgeable volunteers, and awesome post-race food! The best part, though, is the venue. On-site camping means you can roll out of bed late, and you’re only 100 yards from transition. It’s cheap, and you even get a post-race hot shower. The race also features a prize purse for the top-3 overall male and female competitors – always drawing a surprisingly deep amateur field and a handful of fast professionals. Evergreen has also caught the attention of New Zealand Pro Bryan Rhodes who conducts a swim clinic for participants the night before the event and has participated since 2007. In addition, Evergreen has a strong following from the region's collegiate athletes who take advantage of the reasonably priced camping next to the transition area.
