To the 2008 Mideast Region Youth Grant winners that were selected by the Regional Board after the athletes submitted a lengthy resume. Every year the Mideast Board has a youth grant fund for all youth in the region that are multisport athletes looking to further their committement in the sport. By recieving a grant, their goal can be reached. Look for Michaela & Alexey at the local races this year and give them a CONGRATULATIONS.
Download the 2008 Youth Series Grant here USA Triathlon Mideast Region is looking for qualified candidates for 2008 Mideast Region Youth Triathlete Grant recipients. USA Triathlon Mideast Region will be awarding (1) male and (1) female youth triathlete (age between 10~15 as of 12/31/08) who reside in USAT Midest Region (OH, IN, IL, MI, KY). Each Athlete will be rewarded $400.00 check to support their 2008 triathlon season and will be required to submit season report to Mideast Region upon receiving their grant money. Please check the application form for more information. All applications will be carefully screened by Mideast Regional board members and grant recipients will be announced by Email and also posted on www.usatmideast.com

MERKS – Mideast Region Kids
The Mideast Region Board has compiled a list of youth events in our region to make up our 2008 MERKS schedule. These events are geared towards kids (7 – 14) who are just getting into the sport to your experienced little triathlete. Ages and distances do vary from event to event so please see the schedule on our region site www.usatmideast.com. The first year will not be a true “series” where we will be compiling points for each event. The goal is to just promote the youth events we have in our region and get as much participation out to the events as possible. For the 2009 season we look forward to having a strong and defined series put together for our youth and we look for your input and support. Majority of the events are coupled with an adult triathlon so the whole family can enjoy a weekend of racing. Happy Training, Good Health 2008 MERKIDS Series Schedule
